The kitchen toy I didn’t know I needed!
I admit, I held off getting one of these for as long as I could. I really thought the hype was just that. I caved. Now I know, I was wrong. You need this when you didn’t even know you did.I make chicken soup from scratch, particularly in the winter, and I’ve always cubed it. I won’t be doing that anymore. My soups will be far more rustic and flavorful with shredded chicken. I also now get to enjoy my chicken salads more often.Last night I went ahead and roasted 3lbs of chicken breast. Some we ate, and the rest I shredded. That shredding was so easy with this tool. After the cooking was done, I put two smaller breasts into the shredder. If they were larger pieces, I likely would have done one at a time, cutting it in half to place on either side of the shredding bowl. I then put the lid on, and “swished” the top back and forth like I was playing with a toy steering wheel. Using the handles while pushing down some, it moved very easily. I expected the base to slide out since it didn’t seem super stable when I was setting up, but it didn’t really move out from under me. After about 10 “swishes” back and around (about a half circle each way), I had a whole bowl of nicely shredded chicken, with varying sizes. I am sure if I readjusted I could have gotten a finer shred, but I wasn’t all that interested in that. The bowl was able to be pulled out with the chicken shreds and only the finest bits were left behind (not enough to “recover” at all and likely less than the bits left behind if I had tried to shred by hand or chop into cubes).My only real question was that on the sales listing it is specific that this chicken shredder is dishwasher safe (I saw zero metal parts that might rust – the entire thing including the handles are plastic), but the box label said otherwise. Clarification would be great, but I am planning to pop this whole thing on the top shelf of the dishwasher anyway for the next time it’s run so I am ready for more shredding.Since the price is pretty low, don’t expect this shredder to do absolutely all the work for you, but it took very little effort and was way worth it for the results (lots of pics attached!). This is one of those things that you think you don’t you need, until you get it, try it, and wonder how you ever lived without it.I may really killer smoked chicken from boneless skinless chicken breasts. I like to make a big batch, shred it, then freeze it into servings. The kitchen aide works okay for breaking it up, but this work so much better for shredding.Works fast but doesn’t hold a ton.Easy to clean thanks to the tray.The tray only fits in ONE way, it can be hard to line up.

This was so easy to use. I really had my doubts about how this would work. But it was so easy to use and shred. I really like that it has a bowl that the meat sits inside to make it easier to dump into whatever I need the meat in. It was easy to put in the dishwasher to clean. This is something I definitely recommend that everyone should have to use.

Great little gadget
I got this because I have developed issues with my hands and still like to enjoy dishes with shredded meats. So far, it’s working great. The pieces are all top-rack dishwasher-safe and have held up to multiple uses and washes.

Easy to use, except for the removal of the handle knobs
This rotates easily and smoothly. It is very easy to use. The parts are all supposed to be dishwasher safe, which if that’s true, is a great aspect, making it simple to clean. I like that there is a rubber grippy part on the bottom that keeps it from sliding around on the countertop while you’re rotating.

Can’t get any easier
This chicken shredder works so well and cannot be easier. It shreds chicken within seconds and shreds it in nice long strings that are relatively the same size. You do have to take the chicken out and move it and shred a bit more and sometimes it gets stuck in between the spikes and a small piece doesn’t shred. But once the chicken is moved it shreds perfectly again. It’s also so easy to clean and all the parts can be easily taken apart and put into the dishwasher. I also love the color option as it’s much more exciting to look at then just plain black.

Works better than expected
This saves so much time and I no longer avoid chicken meals that required shredding. The shredder works great, but sometimes you have to pick out a larger chunk or two from the side but overall great design. The difference with this and most other shredders is this one has a tray that is easily removed with all the meat to make clean up a little easier. The material is made of plastic, but seems to be well made. The handles do give me a sense it is the weak point in the system, but time will tell. Definitely works better than I expected. I do recommend this shredder. The item is made in China.
